How do I find levels for testing?

Hi,

I am new to TGE. just trying to get a feel for it. I am wondering is there someplace where I can download some good levels for testing purposes other than the 3 default maps provided in the engine package.

is there any city maps (you know, not giant alien planet terrain maps, something close to home) available for download?

I know someone created a couple but they were pretty poor. The only viable solution is so post a help wanted ad and find someone who will make maps for you.

One thing you can do is to visit the CS/HL mapping community, and ask mappers if they would be willing to allow you to use one of their maps. They would probally have the WC .rmf and .wad file on their HD somewhere, and it would be a simple matter of using the map2dif converter. Most mappers in teh CS community are very nice people, and would most likely allow you to use their map as a demo. Obviously you wouldn't release it without their permission, but I am sure you could get several maps from them to run testing until you could get your own custom maps. I did that with Tactical Assault until we could get our own mappers. The community for the most part, is made up of nice guys, so I doubt you would have much trouble securing a couple of test maps.
