Modelers and programers needed for huge online game

by jj gamedesigner · in Game Design and Creative Issues · 08/09/2007 (3:18 pm) · 13 replies

Anyone who wants to join in on can and i am looking for 3-d desiners and programmeers. My idea is a online game many people, it will test a players ability to solve complicated mysteries with others in a same clan as them and defeat others in a close level range. This is a total conquest game that test players in several catorgories but by sticking with their clan or tribe which they can join or create, the players abilities in action or puzzles will have a attribute to their clan.

Now for the name and topic, Ninja Conquest. I plan on a unique combat system that requires you to respond to a letter onscreen that the player will need to hit before their opponent. On the slim chance the players hit the key at the same time to a thousanths of a second it will be a draw and both players take slight damage. The weapon system will include diffrent weight and quality of swords such as, rusted heavy, slight errors medium, finely made light. There will also be a few types of long range weapons, and there are also abilties to increase certain stats the turn used on but this depletes a type of magic meter.

As far as death, the player will be sent back to where they were at the beggining after their tutorial and how they were. All stats and items will be lost. The only item to prevent this is a save item that when you die you go back to where you used the save item.

If you would like join in, have comments please post. I am in need of 3-d designers at the moment. I'll then need a terrain artist who can cover forest terrain, snow terrain, massive amounts of water(no oceans), wasteland terrain, city terrain, lava terrain, and dungeon terrain. I'll then need programers to help code the game and fix glitches.

If you would like any more info email me at jessedean6473@yahoo.com

thank you,
JJ Gamedesigner

Start small. You will not create this game with your current skill set. Yes, it's harsh... but you must be realistic, especially if you are trying to get other people to help you.

If you continue to spam the forums, no one here will care to help you, no matter how innovative your project seems.

You've posted more than enough topics all over the forums, and while your excitement is passably interesting, I'm not sure why anyone would open any more of your topics. After all, they seem to be the same message over and over again. If you ask for help in a week, what's to stop people from thinking that you're asking this very same question all over again with a new topic title? What's to stop them from ignoring you because you've posted multiple topics with the exact same information in them and have even noted that you "won't stop" doing it? Stop doing what? Posting the same thing over and over again when people either don't answer to tell you to stop posting the same thing over and over again?

Good luck with your project. There are a number of tutorials and a good amount of documentation that can get you started. You should head there first.

If you didn't double post and if you used propper grammar and talked nicely, I'd help.

Generally its easier to attract people to work on your project if you can show that you are and the rest of your team are going to contribute as much as the person you are looking for is. No one wants to sign up for a project where you have a bunch of idea men taking all the credit for someone elses hard work.

So if you are truely and honestly serious about this idea. Then show what work that you have put into it to entice people. Ideas are a dime a dozen, its the implementation that counts and makes for a great game.

Hey, a quick tip... i've tried to get people to help me on projects... i've had 1 person help me (lots replied only 1 helped) and i still have his artwork for a game im working on...... what you need to do is get some ground work done yourself... then bring it to the forums and show off what you've already started..... its extremely difficult to find ANYONE to help on an idea that you havent put any work into yourself... and if you have already, SHOW IT OFF.... i'm looking to get into helping on projects but i wont without it being started already... i dont wanna waste time on a project that is gonna flop after i do all the work... not saying yours will.... but like the others said....try to get some experience doing your part of the work before trying to tackle a large game like an mmo right off the bat.... i have a great mmo idea....but i am no where near ready to try to make it..... it'll take as muck work as world of warcraft.... and im not experienced enough to even begin the programming for it.... if you get something going.... let me know.... also... like they said... use proper grammar and spell correctly.... i'd make fun of someone for releasing a game with typo's all over ZOMG POWNED

Unless they were there on purpose... But I agree, you need to start it, show off your work, then get some help.

Since this is the freebies section, I assume you'll give your game away for free. Or are you looking for free help?
