Uhhhh i have a game plan but....

Anyone who wants to join in on can and i am looking for 3-d desiners and programmeers. My idea is a online game many people, it will test a players ability to solve complicated mysteries with others in a same clan as them and defeat others in a close level range. This is a total conquest game that test players in several catorgories but by sticking with their clan or tribe which they can join or create, the players abilities in action or puzzles will have a attribute to their clan.

Now for the name and topic, Ninja Conquest. I plan on a unique combat system that requires you to respond to a letter onscreen that the player will need to hit before their opponent. On the slim chance the players hit the key at the same time to a thousanths of a second it will be a draw and both players take slight damage. The weapon system will include diffrent weight and quality of swords such as, rusted heavy, slight errors medium, finely made light. There will also be a few types of long range weapons, and there are also abilties to increase certain stats the turn used on but this depletes a type of magic meter.

As far as death, the player will be sent back to where they were at the beggining after their tutorial and how they were. All stats and items will be lost. The only item to prevent this is a save item that when you die you go back to where you used the save item.

If you would like join in, have comments please post. I am in need of 3-d designers at the moment. I'll then need a terrain artist who can cover forest terrain, snow terrain, massive amounts of water(no oceans), wasteland terrain, city terrain, lava terrain, and dungeon terrain. I'll then need programers to help code the game and fix glitches.

If you would like any more info email me at jessedean6473@yahoo.com

thank you,

Use "periods". it's really hard to read right now.

Its gonna take a lot more than periods to make that right.

Okay, normally when I see posts like this, I just ignore them and move on. But seeing the bump post a bare 5 hours after the OP, I decided to *try* and help the poor fellow out. Only to have my head start hurting trying to parse and understand that massive block of text.

As the last two folks advised, if you're going to be asking folks on the forums to help out, you really need to learn to write a little more coherently. First off, while I'll give you credit that you didn't type everything lowercase, I find only *two* periods in your entire post! That much text and only *two* sentences?
Uh uh... Not gonna cut it.

Try cutting your text up into sentences, then cut those sentences up into logical paragraphs. Once we're able to read your post with little or no effort, you will likely find help more forthcoming.

My final piece of advice is this. When asking for help, always either start or end with a very simple and clear question. Give whatever back-story or explaination you feel needs be said, but make absolutely certain that your specific request is the first or last thing people read when they see your post.

With that advice, feel free to take another crack at a question, and I at least will be more than willing to assist to the best of my ability and time constraints.

Got the periods, yeah! :)

ok.. now that I can read it (seriously, w/o the periods it was kept going & i couldn't comprehend it)...

you should really give more detail. everything is very vague when it shouldn't be. IE you say "unique combat setup". What does that mean? Stalker was a unique combat setup. So was Halo. So was Quake. So was Zelda. See?

you also never specify an engine. Or specific tasks people will need to do.

I understand you just put an idea out there but with such vague statements it sounds more like a political speech then a game idea. Get more specific & post more details. You can be vague up to a point (ie "weapon types I'd like are a RL-type gun, something to sniper with, etc") but that's way to vague. :) So vague i'm not sure what you want to do.

Also... don't do one of those posts that's pages long with details up the wazoo. :D

Jj,

First off, please only post your question once. GarageGames provides a great, free community to gather information and help. Please be courteous and allow other users to gain some exposure in getting their questions answered. You posted the same exact question five times in the forum. Seriously,
This,
This,
This,
This, and
This, is ridiculous to post for a non-paying "job" that has had little thought or punctuation put into it.

So, I see you are trying to form a team. In order to get people to want to join your team, you should provide some sort of design document. Also, what qualifications and talent are you bringing to the table? Are you purely a game designer or can you script/ code? Posting any rough draft design docs or concept art is always helpful.

My suggestion would be to first get comfortable with the engine. Make a simple, complete game yourself. I know you don't want to hear the word simple but it is the way to go. The word 'complete' is the main point here. People will see you that you have the drive to finish a game and take you a little more seriously, regardless of your punctuation or forum manners.

... i cant create a game because i lack computer skills or at least i have no idea what to do on tgb if i was on terrain had items like the tge demo i tried i might be able to do somthin and yeah i know i have to add terrain design myself. my art skills are so bad that it took me 5 days to figure out how to make a peson and not a detailed person either, a glob person, so i would need a artist no matter what i did. well ive had a few emails about the project so it might just go on so oh well i have to continue. wait.

JP:this is ridiculas to post for a non-paying "job"

first of all the jobs pays as soon as the game is up and keeps paying and everyone on the project works at their own pace on the hours they want

I am sorry but you won't hire many people if the pay is nothing until after the game comes out. You sort of need money to make a video game. Now I know that it's hard to get money if your a kid (I'm 12) but you also needs skills to help your project along.

It is useless to just get other people to make the game for you while you do nothing. When that happens, usually they quit and form their own team finishing up the game you thought of.

Ohh and you should check the documention that comes in TGB to get you started on Torques basic features. I would suggest you try the shooter tutorial to help you on projectiles, collision, and movement.

If people work on their own pace at the hours they want the game will never be finished. In terms of not having the skills, those skill are obtainable. Try taking some simple programming classes, try modeling something simple like a soup can or a basic building. People are more likely to join you if you have something to show or prove you're willing to pull your own weight in the development process.
