DTS Exporter: Blender

by William Shellman · in Artist Corner · 08/09/2007 (4:49 am) · 5 replies

I have imported a vehicle from a LWO file. I followed the instructions given by a couple of forum members and attempted to export it. The error states :

Torque Exporter 0.949
Using blender, version 244
Processing Scene...
Cleaning Preference Keys
Exporting...
Error: No Shape Marker found! See the readme.html file.
Finished.

What did I do wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Well it seems that you don't have a shape marker, try following this parenting thing.

Shape (Empty)
/ \
Detail32 (Empty) Col0 (Empty)
| |
| ColMesh0 (Collison bounds)
|
(Your shape here)

You need to add 3 "Empties" and name them the following: Shape, Detail32, and Col0. Select Detail32 (Empty), and then select Shape (Empty). Click ctrl + P to make it a parent. Do the same thing with Col0 (Empty). Create your collision box around your object and name it "ColMesh0". Select it and Col0 (Empty) and make it a parent. Then do the same thing with your shape and Detail32 (Empty).

This should tell you how to set up your parenting hierarchy. I think you forgot the "Shape (Empty)" when you exported.

Tyler! Thank you for the help! I am a little confused about the section, "Do the same thing with Col0 (Empty). Do you mean, select the Detail32 (Empty), and then select the Col0 (Empty), then ctrl + P to make the Parent.
