Transparent png is white in game, please advise

I spent yesterday making a tree and learning how to texture and export to dts using 3dsmax8.
I have managed to get the tree to display in game and it works fine.

The only problem is the transparent sections between the branches and leaves is display as white and
i cant fix it!

Are there any special material settings i should be using in max before exporting to dts?

The texture is a 512x512 png.

Any help would be great, thanks!

This is how I got the transparent textures to work.

The textures are created in photoshop and exported for web as png with transparent BG.

Okay, sorry i may have been a little missleading there.
