Ok, I am hopeing that you havn't heard of this totaly cool game that has just taken my social life and run.
It's called Soldat, and it crosses several game types. Here, I will quote from the official site:
Soldat is a unique side-view multiplayer action game. It takes the best from games like Liero, Worms, Quake and Counter-Strike and gives you fast action gameplay with tons of blood and flesh. Soldiers fight against each other on 2D battle arenas using a deadly military arsenal.
and some of the most important features:
* Game environment based on real physics rules
* Over 14 weapons available:
- guns like Desert Eagle, MP5, Ak-74, M79, M249 Minimi, Barret M82A1, XM214 Minigun
* Multiplayer network game based on UDP over the Internet or LAN
* Inteligent bots
* 5 game modes:
- Deathmatch
- Pointmatch
- Teammatch
- Capture the Flag
- Rambomatch
* 18 different maps
Multiplay is great, the only trouble is finding a partner.
Just so you know, I did not make this game. (duh).
The official site is slow to load, and their forums are mostly in Polish, so I suggest you visit this fanpage. http://soldat.ionichost.com. They just started, (I joined) and the owner has great ideas, all they need is more members. They also have 1 dedicated server running now, hopfuly more in the future.

It looks like a very odd game from the pics. But maybe its nice. Got to try when I have the time.

God fear the vulgar homophobe who knows C++...
I wish the netcode was a bit more solid, I've only had a few minutes of non-laggy play, even on DSL.

Yes, the net code is a little slow, on my home LAN it's jerky now and again.

A way to turn of the cuss words would have been nice. The other thing is you should consider putting like a blue aura around your character. I know the triangle pops up right when you spawn, but it fades too quickly.
Good luck with it.
BTW, I presume that this was put in by the mirror and not by you, but I'd caution watching who you affilliate with. It almost turned me off to the point of not even trying it.
The readme.txt next to the setup file says this, and nothing more:

You can turn off the cussing, in the options menu uncheck "bot speak" and they cease to speak. You can also edit the speach file so they say what you want them to.
