Error, > 256 surfaces on an interior hull - stairs be the proble

I have noticed this on my stairs getting this -- Error, > 256 surfaces on an interior hull

Examples:
1. A large number of stairs that touching each other bottom corner to opposite top cornet and at least one stair face parallel to a wall face vertically. Will cause the Export to Dif... to give you the Error.

2. Having the stairs rotated at a none 0,90,180 degree angle will give you this error the reason for me coming to this conclusion is that the straits were ok when I started then I rotated them to match up right for my design and no longer could get my exporter to work give the error..
The fasts way I have found to fix this is to make all the brushes that make up the Stairs a Detail brush..

Question??????????
Would having that many detail brushes be the problem.. for what I understand is that detail brushes will always render no mater if they are visible or not is this correct?

Example 2 give me the Error because when you rotate the brushes that they no longer are aliened to the grid?

I did a test and snapped all my Vertices to the grid and still got the error for Example 2..

Yes I have read this.. No it don't help Thanks anyway...

It just doesn't explane why when you rotate a brush that it will cut the faces up more and give you the Error when before it didn't..

And it don't answer my question about performances with detail brushes and visibility.

Thanks..
