How to safely Replace icon

Hi I tried to replace the icon torque.ico with my custom icon and it shows on my file system. But when I try to check the same folder with my ftp uploader or set up the installer etc.. the default torque icon is shown. help! How do I safely replace the icon.

You need to do it via your compiler.
