Ok I have a verry strange problem.
I created an object in 3dsmax 4 the object is an streetlight. Now I modified it with 2 edit meshs modifiers one smooth modifier. then I added a another editmesh modifier. in that edit mesch modifier I flatted my image and then I created UVW mapcoourdinates (the orange rectangle is a squere of 1024x1024) loaded it into texporter created a 512x512 png file of it.. placed the png file on the difuse channel of the material of the shape. Then I unwrapped the uvw's
then I collapsed the stack. then I made some dummy's you know them one shape dummy wich is the parent of a dummy called detail5, a dummy called paal (wich is a dutch word for pile) and the parrent of collision-1. paal is the parrent of paal5 wich is the shape and of a clone of paal5 wich is called col-1. everything has coordinates y=0 y=0 z=0 then I created a bounding box around it called bounds. then I opend the dts exporter.
deselected collapse transforms in the parameters tab. and base texture pad is .
My texture is located under scenes/skins while the max file is under scenes. but that is not the problem becouse I tried to put the texture under the scenes dir.
then I pressed whole shape and filled in straatlamp1 so now it is called straatlamp1.dts (=streetlight1)
I putted the 2 files straatlamp1.dts en paal.png in a dir called street (where also some other succesfully exported things are wich work) becouse of the texture pad is . the texture is in the same dir. now the problem is the texture is not on the shape if I vieuw it in the shape vieuwer nor it a testlevel??
How come???

Also just to be sure, did you check on the model prior to export to be absolutely sure everything mapped correctly, say in perspective view?

Did you actually apply the diffuse channel to the model? You didn't say you did. Also just to be sure, did you check on the model prior to export to be absolutely sure everything mapped correctly, say in perspective view?

Check the dump file of the shape. Look at the bottom of the file and make sure that the name of your texture file is in the materail list. If it is in the materail list in the dump file, it is probably a path problem. If it is not in the materail list in the dump file, then the issue is in the modeling app.

so I unwrapped texcoordinates again applied the material again and now it worked..
what the hell it works now :-)

Well it was strange the model had the texture on it in perspective vieuw but becouse I collapsed the stack the material was not assigned anymore but it still was on the model. so if I exported there was no material. But if you vieuw it in max there was. so I applied the material agian but that did not work.so I unwrapped texcoordinates again applied the material again and now it worked..
