What if I don't want do sell my game? I read your "How it works" or somethin' ... but what if I want to create a freeware game? Is it allowed to buy your engine and create a freewaregame that I upload to a server and let it download and play anyone wants to? ;)

Not to toot our own horn, but Dog of Prey is/will be free:

If you want an official answer, I'd recommend the search feature. :-P lol ;-)

K, this means it's allowed, ...good, ...very good :).

Nice idea, but it's too hard to control the plain.
Do you use vertex shading in your game?

Eric, maybe this sounds weird, but I hope you guys reconsider - DoP, with a little work, could be sold. It has the potential to be one of those "umbrella" games Jeff has talked about; I think you guys could make money off it and help out GG in the process if you guys charged for it; I'm certain I would buy it (providing the difficulty to beginning flight is considerably lowered :)

Well thank you. :-)

I agree that it could be a commercial (ie: 'to sell') product. They are quite a talented group of people working on it and I'd like to see them get the recognition they deserve.
Dog of Prey was started by Frank and Laurent as an exercise in learning the TGE and everything involved--and I'll respect their wishes whether it's a free game or one where we pay you (ok, I would draw the line there. ;-) ). But really, if nothing else I know I have learned alot from it.
One of the payoffs for me are people like you! I'm glad you enjoy it! :-) Yes, it's still rough (or is that "ruff"?), but this beta was eye-opening in parts. One of those times when developers might be too close to their game... the steering in particular. I had alot of trouble at first, and now I think I might miss at least some of it! lol We ARE addressing this issue, though... and I think we will come up with a nice interface.
And who's to say that a free game can not be successful? ;-)
