It sounds like you downloaded the demo of TGE, not the engine itself. You need to purchase a license before you get more than just the demo.

Yeah, I personally had a question about that.

If we want to try the engine, is there now way? Because, I would really like to test drive this engine, so I'll know if I want to buy it.

Is the demo not working for you? Because it should allow you to try out everything short of modifying the source code.

All it does is tell me what Torque CAN do, it doesn't let me actually try to do it, which is pretty essential to figuring out if you would like to buy an engine.

Perhaps take a look here. Generally you make a copy of the starter.fps folder to begin working on your own stuff.

I see.

Also, is the "Torque for Teens" Torque Engine the full engine without source code? Or is it modified?

I'm not really an expert on TGE or Torque for Teens, but most likely its the same "demo" download you would get here from the site. Which is the everything minus the source code. You might check the version numbers to see if it's the most recent.

If you are using T4T, you will want to download the full demo. It includes the starter kits as well as the demo mission.

I'm not using T4T, but I noticed that it is the same demo.

If it's the full engine without the source code, then that's what I need for now, and that's very helpful.

Yeah, that "full demo" isn't exactly what I needed, the starter kits aren't too useful to me, since I want to make games without those, and the demo mission doesn't seem to show what Torque can really do (since I've seen it do so much better).

Thank you James, that was very helpful, now to take some tutorials and make some games!
