What about t2dShape3D in D3D?

Great to see 1.5 has shipped! Looks nice.
One huge bug is still there - the t2dShape does not render in D3D. On our Vista machine and I assume most - there is no OpenGL. This would render the 3D shape essentially unusable for a commercial product.
It is the #1 bug listed here over a year ago

"These are issues we currently know about TGB and plan to fix in future releases."
* t2dShape3D does not render in D3D mode.
Question:
* Is there a patch for this? I noticed the Snapshot Adventures game has 3D shapes in it and it ran on the Vista machine
Totally willing to recompile engine if a fix is available, but couldn't find info one the site.
Thanks!
