3dMax Question// Hiding objects for sequence.

How would you go about having somthing appear and disappear during an animation. Specifically I am trying to Model my muzzle flash into the fire sequence. I tried scaling it up and down but I think I am missing somthing. The animation and keyframes don't follow the scaling. I tried using the scaling (keyframe) button in the motions panel but I must have forgoten somthing. Could anybody elaborate on this. Thanks

You can export object visibility using a visibility track (if you are using 3dsmax)

OK I read the help file on that after I read the post. Wasn't sure if the exporter would handle it. Thank

Make sure the 'visibility animation' checkbox is checked in the the sequence helpers >export control.

OK I did it. Unfortunatly it doesn't look as good as I would like it to. Gotta keep playin with it.
