There's a debug option to disable CVAs -- it's in one of the prefs/ini files. I know of cases where there are crashes, I have yet to understand why opengl would crash at all given it is standard GL code that works fine on the PC, but it has to do with CVAs -- thus turning off support makes the crash go away (at a performance hit...).
