Would this kind of game be possible with one of the torque platforms, i currently have TGE but not really been using it due to real life time constraints, but i should be able from the middle of the month commit a good 40-50 hours per month.
This is going to be a hobby/learn to use torque and maybe programme some since i aint done any programming since basic back on the dragon 32 and bbc micro lol those where the days.
I know it will take a fairly long time to build/program something like this but it a hobby i want to keep the old brain ticking over rather the just playing mmorpgs.
Any advise and help well be gratefully welcomed

I would think you could get the camera to be locked in a certain angle to give you the isometric 2d look, after all i think that is all they did for kingdom reborn is use a 3d client and lock it in the one view.

Why not make a 3d UO kinda like a oblivion type UO? have lots of the UO stuff and all the good stuff it has.

TGE and AFX would work functionally (plus some modifications), but the look wouldn't be as UO as TGB would. But it could be Kingdom Reborn client looking probably.
Also there is the MMO Addon from Prarie Games and GarageGames coming out soon. You can check it out at www.mmoworkshop to get a look at how it is going to be, and play around with the preview build.
