Constructor is on its way to becoming a very usual tool unfortunate things like zoning out rooms (portals) are very bug at the moment and you can't have transparency for windows but you can add dts files and back them in witch is very handy for making windows at the moment the only thing wrong is that you can run right threw the windows but the over all look of it I am happy with.. My one big complaint was working and tweaking and deleting lights was hit or miss when you saved out the fixes you would open up the file and there they would be even after you deleted them or messes with there properties.. I do like the constructor lights over the Torque lights thow not as harsh a light. ...

Holy A** F***! That is a great building! Nice job! My God.
Did you build it for a project you working on or just for fun?

The bug for being able to run through static meshes will be fixed in the next version (1.0.3) which is in QA right now.

Awesome work!!! What did you do the glass with?

Jared Reno - yes there are more than just the support beams there are stirs and the simple walls fore bathrooms.
Ron Nelson - The glass is a single DTS file that is baked into the dif. EDIT: 3ds max 8
I like the idea that you can export out the file into *.low I wish that there was other formats like max or blend would be most help full in building the geometry like this.
I had to take the *.low and save it out as *.3ds and bring that into max and build the geometry for the windows.

PS how many poly or triangles are in the building and do you do contract work? It would be nice if you came out with a neighborhood/house and downtown/building pack with your kind of work it would sell.
just a suggestion to make you some money
peace

With this type of work you do, i can't see how you can send someone in the wrong path, but i understand some people it easy for them to do, but when you have to show someone that the challenge, but great work anyways just keep us posted and i like the video to the Stryker IAV Content Pack. Oh this is really some nice work!
I myself just started (because I failed before) a project: Virtual Museums for everyone. More like multiplayer stuff but so that people could connect and see otehr people's paintings and photographs and be able to talk.
But unfortunatly I am not as great with modeling stuff. Here's what I've got so far (i'm really bad at texturing):
http://gallery.filefront.com/tvvladimir//793459/
http://gallery.filefront.com/tvvladimir//793460/
http://gallery.filefront.com/tvvladimir//792943/
I need to make a few museums of your quality so that I can make my client work as planned. Really need to :). Thanks for inpiration.
May I ask if you can share the DTS of the windows you made? (tvvladimir yahoo.com) Coz I have same problem about windows: I even began making underground museum so that I don't make windows (its that round building- its like embedded into the ground, so to enter you would go down it), just not good with 3d programs except Constructor and Google SketchUp.
Thanks!

Great trick with windows- congratulations (and thanks for hint)

I hope it helps Radoslaw Marcin Kurczewski

Vladimir T as for the windows it is a single DTS file and would not help you out do to the fact that he windows are a single mesh and fit that building.. I would suggest download Blender and make a single plane and put a transpent PNG texture on it to be used for glass.. I hope it helps Radoslaw Marcin Kurczewski

It certainly does- I was unable to find a way of using transparent surfaces with cubemaps in levels. Your solution is clean and very smart. Thank you once again.

Thanks again for a good idea :D.

Thanks again for your advise. It seems all worked fine for me I go tthe windows. I had trouble with Blender (with cripts) but I used Milkshape. Though to do it with Milkshape I had to put data from Constructor then back because otherwise when trying to stretch the plane it would lose texture. Thanks again for a good idea :D.

With your baked in .dts's for windows, are you able to view other .dts, or player models through the windows?
I've got my windows to look proper, i.e. they're transparent, however when I bake them into my .dif file, they block the player model, and any other .dts files that are on the other side of the window from rendering.
However If I take the .dts file for the window and place it manually within the mission editor, it seems to work properly.
Any advice on this would be appreciated!
Thanks.
BTW, I'm using TGE 1.5.2
