Portals... Crash Direct To Dif

I am using a Cub to build my Portals.. so 4 sides need to be inside other brushes ( 2 side walls upper wall and into the floor) here is my question - If I have the 2 side walls that are made up of 4 brushes would that be the reason that Direct To Dif keeps crashing Constructor and do a strange artifact look when it does export out to dif?
Does any one know if transparent textures (windows) are going to be supported any time soon like in the next Day I have a dead line and trying to port out all the windows is really make one go balled fast.
