Updating the OpenAL headers

I've got a customer which claims our TGEA-based project has garbled noise instead of music on his Creative X-FI sound card. I've sent him newer OpenAL dlls, but it did nothing. I don't have the same card at hand, which makes it even harder to debug.

Would updating the OpenAL headers and recompile the engine help? I downloaded the latest OpenAL SDK and the headers are completely different than the ones that come with TGEA, with some missing and some new ones. I've read about people updating the OpenAL in the engine and I wonder how they did it?

Making him installing the current creative drivers on his Vista should solve the issue.
(I just assume that, as X-FI had known problems for the first 3 months after vista launch on that platform)

He's using XP, but I'll ask him to try updating the drivers anyway. I googled for the X-FI and it really seems to be loaded with problems on older drivers. Thanks.

Using XP and a X-fi Fatality here. Nothing odd going on.
