Considering that SoE owns it (Sony) it sounds like someone ported the models out of it and the legality would definatly be of question.

Ya but its just the models in mega city its not the city already made for you

EDIT:
And you would be seriously fucked if you tried to release anything commercially (and because of Sony's stance on piracy) or free outside of the Matrix product line without a special handshake agreement. I'd notify Sony before people get suckered into giving this "art dealer" their money for completely useless assets.

It is still highly illegal if they are not licensed to sell the models.EDIT:

Suppose the only way to know is to check the site and content for sale. Perhaps the person made the models and is just calling them mega city since they look very similar? For example I found this one with a quick search www.exchange3d.com/cubecart/architecture/mega-matrix-city/prod_3006.html and looking at it I won;t say those are textures from matrix online, I've played it for a little while and that doesn't look the same and David said, Sonly would on his ass real fast if it was from their content.

Yeah. The models Leslie noted are all over 3D portals and were not from The Matrix Online. And they're very nice city models. If that's what you're talking about, John, then you would need to abide by the author's license for usage and redistribution. Many authors only allow renders rather than mesh distribution to protect their assets and business. But you can always negotiate that as long as you have a secure way to encrypt them from prying eyes.

These models are suited for RTS games (very lowpoly) not so much fps games (no collision meshes) They use the set.skin command thingy too, you can have them appear with a diffrent texture at night if you have a day night cycle. Or become worn (changing texture again) over time.

Hiya. Those are legit handmade by 3Drt. They are definately not used in Matrix. They might possibly appear as such, I havent played matrix.
