Just Built Computer

by Demone Amerson · in General Discussion · 06/15/2007 (8:19 am) · 4 replies

I just built my first computer "for torque of course" and I don't know how to create a Boot Disk so that I can install windows XP. I was under the impression that the files I would need to make a Boot Dist would be on the disk that came with my motherboard. I have a Gigabyte 865G motherboard. Could anyone with any computer experience please help me. Thanks!

The regular XP disc will boot automatically as long as you have your CD-ROM setup in the bios as first-boot.

It should work just fine to boot from that drive. When you format the drive as NTFS or Fat32, it will do its thing.
