Hi,
I am sure i know the answer to this :)
I am looking to get TGB next month and the main reason is to make some decent RPG's, i have been writing design docs and using other engines since about 1997 just nothing worth showing due to poor engines. which is why im looking forward to getting used to TGB.
My main question is most Indies seem to make casual games and i personally dont like them, i think the market for them is very saturated and i dont find them that fun to play, and i am not going to make a game that i personally dont enjoy to play :)
After all one of the reasons i make games is to make a game i want to play myself :)
Anyway back to my question can TGB make a large RPG?? i know its a lot of work, my plan is to do it in bits, ie make one map at a time and build on a base and see how it goes. I was just wondering if it can handle a long RPG game ie something with the gameplay of 50+ hours :)
Thanks for any replies and i hope the question didnt sound too noobish or like i was 12 lol
(just to confirm im not 12 lol im 22 )

i do plan to buy that kit. Im not a programmer and dont know c++ atall but my farther has known C for a long time so i will get one on one lessons with him and read several books on C++ so i can learn enough to use Torque products :)
I think its going to take a bit of work coming from a game maker to a game engine :) but will be worth it

Before buying, download the trial version and do all the tutorials that's in it. They're really well made, it'll get you started with torquescript and from here you can make a decision.

TGB is very efficient for core games, but casual games are simply quicker to pull out. I myself am making an hardcore-gamer Action Platformer game and development is doing well using only torquescript. Before buying, download the trial version and do all the tutorials that's in it. I have 2 RPGs planned but they are going on pause for awhile. I am going to get better at TGB by developing a few casual games :)
