My first advice would be to download the demo version of TGE, it includes the racing starter pack with a track and car to race - TGE comes as standard with a highly optimized network code to allow you to play over the internet with other people, the one main reason I would suggest trying the demo first is that the physics for vehicles in Torque aren't perfect for racing, it was designed as FPS engine like many other engines and whilst you can use it to produce a racing game I would think you'll need to modify the physics.

Kev - When you purchase the engine you get the full source so you can make whatever changes you would like to in order to get it working, the question really is how much patience and time you have to invest learning it and making/testing the changes needed.

You should also note that the racing starter kit is more attuned to off-road buggy-style racing than an accurate street racing simulation.

Note: download the 1.4 version of TGE. The 1.5 version does not include a racing starter kit.You should also note that the racing starter kit is more attuned to off-road buggy-style racing than an accurate street racing simulation.

Has a few bugs, though.

1.5 comes with a Racing Starter Kit. Well, my 1.5.2 does anyway.Has a few bugs, though.

The full version does (as well as a tutorial.base and a fps kit). But the demo does not. I was confused on that earlier until I downloaded the demo to take a look.

Im not a hardcore programmer but more of a designer typer - however i would really hate suddenly realising that i need some of the features only available in TGEA after having bought TGE. However my problem is that im not actually sure on what the main differences are between the two versions - again im not a hardcore programmer.
Can anyone say something about the practical differences there are between the two versions?
Thanks,
