Upcoming Content Pack

by Reference3D · in General Discussion · 06/08/2007 (4:59 pm) · 13 replies

Hello everyone, my name is Noah Kaarbo. I am part owner and creator of Reference3D, an active Seattle based digital photography studio that captures real-world content specifically for 3D artists and developers. In addition to our reference photography we have been generating 3D models to better refine our capture process. So with that said we will soon be introducing our first reference based content pack for the Torque engine.

This content pack will contain five highly detailed abandon machines. All of which have been created using image based modeling. What this means is that the models have been recreated from the photographs. Textures are to scale and the level of detail is unprecedented. The models will be static objects that can be used to flush out any environment.

We are hoping to have this launched mid to late June. After we will start a new content pack. As of right now the subject matter is undetermined so if anyone has suggestions please let us know.

Best - Noah

Thanks guys - We are pretty excited about the models and to be able to offer them specifically for the Torque engine. Anyone have suggestions for our next pack? We have been thinking of doing abandon shacks, one to two room exterior/interiors.

Nice! DIF or DTS?

I'm lovin these! My guess is, unless you are using Quark or something that handles simple brushes, these will be DTS? If so, please make extremely simple collision meshes. If you guys get into bigger structures, definitely consider building DIFs. What's the cost planned for these and how soon will they be released? Will source be included? How many triangles in the last screen?

More abandoned stuff sounds good. Shacks, industrial structures and destroyed skyscrapers would be great!

I have a suggestion.

PRE-FABS we need pre-fabs to create stuff in Constructor.
fences,walls,roofs,floors,stairs,doors,windows,chairs,tables and accoutrements.
in city and rural settings.

ie: I want to make a rural wooden village, this will take time :-P
but never fear...i dont need to allocate all that time,i can save it by...

yes, constructing my houses, barns and outshacks in...
you guessed it...Constructor by purchasing
a Reference 3D rural pack in which I can utilize the floors, walls, roofs, stairs and
accoutrements as i wish to build unique houses with the pre-fab parts all in
great detail.

this would be a winner, worth anyones money in time saved.

Sorry we haven't been on lately to answer any questions or respond to feed back. We have been working to get this pack out. James at GG just announced that the pack is now online. Here is the link to the product page.
www.garagegames.com/mg/snapshot/view.php?qid=1496.

The product page should answer any questions you have. If not, let us know and we will try our best to answer them.

Regarding our next pack. We will be working with GG to release a WWII Soldier (Character Model) then a full abandon farm environment.

Thanks for all the comments. We hope everyone enjoys the new pack!
