MBP Official Release Date Announced

by Matan · in Marble Blast · 06/01/2007 (5:51 am) · 17 replies

OMFG NO WAY! YOU WON'T BELIEVE IT BUT YES IT'S FINALLY HAPPENING!

It seemed so far away and even Marble Mini Golf took longer to finish than this project and yet... releasing? YAY!

On a serious note, we need to update you on a couple of checkpoints and updates that will follow this month. Each is serious and you must read them.

1st June 2007 - MBP Official Release date announced

15th June 2007 - MBP Installation Instructions for PC, MAC and Linux releasing. Critical to read -> Not complying with instructions WILL crash MBP/G. MBP isn't just a 'mod' as everyone thinks. It is actually more powerful than expected.

15th June 2007 - MBP System Requirements Releasing

29th June 2007 - Matan's Birthday and the official MBP release by Matan himself for PC, MAC and LINUX via philsempire.com (direct link: http://philsempire.com/mbp.php )

Honestly, we didn't finish. We're 19 levels away from our goal. However, many bug fixes and level fixes were made to ensure the top quality MBP relies upon. We also hope to have 2 final surprises ready for the community. We don't know if they'll be successful (in terms of: completed), but we hope they will be.

For MBUers, we know you want to play with xbox360 controller and we did get the camera to work, but we still need your help to get the camera movement working properly. Please contact me ASAP if you wish to have it working because otherwise you will not have a functioning controller for MBP.

Happy waiting,

Matan and the MBP Team.

Quote:We promised 15th but to make sure there are no screw-ups, here it is!

Note: MBP staff, please use the instructions in the staff board instead of these as it is different for you.

PC PRE-INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS
Made by Matan.

There's nothing really. If you want to have MBG and MBP running in the same folder you'll need to wait for actual instructions which are critical. If you want to separate the two, it's best to copy+paste the currnet MBG folder (found in Program Files) into another locations, say desktop or my documents and renaming that folder to Marble Blast Platinum, for future reference. Then all installations you need to do can be done on that MBP folder rather than MBG.

It is recommended to have MBG and MBP as separate folders. MBP has new level select screen etc so that if you don't want the new one, it'll be seperated. Else some of the new codes put into it won't appear for MBP, which gets rid of some of the new codes and levels done for it.

Questions? Comments? PM him!

We know you are probably all pumped up for MBP's release, but we will need to make a few quick changes to to the library folder so MBP and MBG will run properly without scripts, frictions, etc spilling over from one to another. To simplify the install process when you download MBP, you will do some steps now so it won't be as complicated when you actually install MBP itself.

For the most part of this tutorial, you will need two finder windows. The first is for the folder named "Marbleblast" in the [name]-library location, and the other is the package contents of MBG. To open the contents of MBG, find its icon in the finder window and control-click on it (or right click) and choose 'show package contents'.

Step One:
The first thing you need to do, is move the init.cs.dso file from the library to the package contents of MBG. Its location in both is in marble-data. Make sure you move the file, don't just copy and paste because it can't be left in the library. Upon completing this, continue to step two.

Step Two:
You will now be moving some scripts from the library to MBG's package contents. The location of this folder for both is in marble-client. Open up the library finder window for that and you will see a scripts folder there. Open it up in the library, and that same folder in the package contents. Move the dso's from the library to the package contents by dragging and dropping. Do not move the actual folder and replace, just the files in the folder. After completing this, there should be nothing in the scripts folder in the marbleblast library folder. Now, continue to step three.

Step Three:
Now, there is one more scripts folder that you need to move dso's. It's in marble-server for both the app and the marbleblast library folder. Move the dso's from that folder from the first location: library, to the package contents.

Congratulations! You are now prepared for MBP! Upon MBP's release, there will be more instructions guiding you how to actually get MBP running, but you are done with moving dso's.

You will notice absolutely no change whatsoever in the game play of MBG upon completing this. It just helps the division of MBG and MBP.

That's because its set as a pop-up thats set to the same size as the browser window, so it looks like that is the main page on the forum. But, it only appears once every 14 days. :P

This project of minigolf, or MarbleGolf :), is excellent, can feel as if golf played, but without leaving Marble Blast, and in addition, can create other levels with interiors, like Super Castle, one of my levels in creation :0. He is super-cool. ;)

LUKIE! STOP HARASSING NEW MEMBERS!

Sebastian, bumping topics if you have something good to say is fine. :) I agree with you about Mini Golf.

Now, time to point out Lukie's dumb mistakes and uncomprehendable sentence structure.

Quote:Sebastian, you bumped a topic. Just to let you know, to not bump a topic is a rule just saying that you shouldn't do that. P.S. MarbleMiniGolf doesn't need to be bumped either, but that's not a rule you broke. :) That topic was not discussing that exact thing.
