SubPar Heroes
Brief description:
SubPar Heroes is a third-person, action-fighting game along the same lines as Marvel Ultimate Alliance and X-men legends. The story revolves around several different inept heroes who's powers and personalities are far less than super. When the city of WHAT's true and competent heroes go missing, its up to the "sub par" heroes to rescue them and defeat the villains.
There are 12 zany heroes that the player gets to interact with during the course of the game. Each Subpar Hero has their own strange quirks and personalities that will make a fun beat-'em-up game.
The main focus of SubPar Heroes is good old fashioned teamwork. Each character has his/her own unique abilities for combating the evil forces that plague their world. Alone they are powerful, but only by joining forces and using those amazingly inept powers can they overcome the obstacles they are about to face.
Target aim:
Our target aim is currently to create a demo level, that we can use to show that we have the "potential" to design and CREATE a powerful game.
If the game is well liked, and we can get funding we will continue on and complete the additional 12 levels and produce a full retail game.
Compensation:
All assets created are your own, its only the concepts and premises for which they are made that we control. Everyone will get full credit and their name on the product when its finished and ready to be shown. If funding is provided for a full retail version, commissions and compensation will be accredited to those who help, with both the demo and those who continue on with the full version
Technology:
Our target system for the demo is PC. For the full version we will be going for PC and Console. The game will be written for the Torque engine. As far as art assets are concerned it is open to whatever the artist cares to use... IE. Maya and 3dSMax
Talent needed:
Must have positive attitudes and a great sense of humor!!!!
** we need someone with some experience with game dev, to function as a producer, and help keep the game maintain its direction and focus.. as well as staying on task.
**1 programmers (( we will provide the full Torque engine for you to work with ( we bought several Lic# )
-Knowledge of C++ a must
-familiarity with Torque Script a bonus
-Must have a great sense of humor
-AI programming a double plus
2 - 3d Artist
2 modelers
-familiar with Maya, 3dsmax, blender, or other modeling programs which can build assets that can be put into torque
1 Level designer
2 animators
--this position is going to be the hardest. Each character has his own unique fighting style, so each one will have to be "tweaked" according to the characters personality and quirks.
Example: The Speedster Hype: is also a dancer. In his normal Movement he almost prances when not speeding from one part of the screen to another.
