DRL screwing up the PlayGUI...

I almost finished a nice little platformer. There's only some level creating left to do, so I compiled the game executable as "release". The debug exe worked fine, but the release exe has a big problem:
When I activate "High Dynamic Range" in the options and DRL in the mission editor, the sky is visible in the upper half of the screen while the lower half is black. Does anyone know what's happening here?

Not sure I'm following, is the terrain missing or just too dark? Can you post debug and release screen shots of the scene (one of how it should look and another of it looking wrong)?
