Rasing all the terrain at once...

Is there any way to raise all the terrain at once?
I'm asking this because I am working with a very large terrain and after painting the terrain, adding the models and other objects, etc. , I want to be able to excavate out the rivers and streams.
I did try a forum search, but I couldn't find an exact answer to this. I guess to me it would be easier to be able to raise everything up like 10 meters and then dig out the rivers.
Any help would be appreciated and thanks in advance.

Thanks for the info, but how could this be done? For instance exporting it to MS Paint for example? Or am I off base?

Well, I've tried importing a heightmap.png through the bit map function in Terraformer and it doesn't seem to work. I even double checked GPGT and I'm doing it correctly, so I'm not sure what else I can do.

1. Go to Edit - Terrain Editor Settings and set Set Height to whatever you want. Press Ok.
2. Select the Terrain Editor window (F6).
3. Set the brush to box, hard and 25x25.
4. Set the action to Set Height.
5. Paint away!
You can set the whole map that way pretty quickly, or change the brush settings to taste for smaller areas.
Hope it helps!

Maybe there is a way to do this in TGEA, but it doesn't seem to be able to be done in TGE.
I've tried using the terraformer in several different ways, but it seems that once I get the terrain flattened out again, there is no way to dig the trenches needed for rivers and streams.
Thanks for the help so far everyone, if any one else has any ideas, please let me know.

Thanks James, but that's not quite what I'm going for. I am trying to do a very large map and raising everything up a lttle at a time is going to be very difficult, although I'm beginning to think it may be the only way to do it. Just to clarify, go into the demo hit F7, select the bitmap option form the drop down menu( from the selection bar on the right/middle of the screen), and add in your terrain .png(What ever you called it), and this should work. Like I said, it didn't work at first for me, but I figured I try it one last time and it now works.
Edited for my horible fast typing and if anyone needs any help with this and you have the GPGT, follow the instructions page 72.

Ok, I solved this problem. It can be solved by simply making a solid color .png file in paint. It must be 256x256. Now I tried this before and for some reason I couldn't get it to work.Just to clarify, go into the demo hit F7, select the bitmap option form the drop down menu( from the selection bar on the right/middle of the screen), and add in your terrain .png(What ever you called it), and this should work. You can't use the same Set Height technique for digging trenches?

I also, wanted to add that when you import the .png file as your terrain, you must have one small section either lighter or darker than the rest of the map. If you do just one flat color it will not work. The easiest way is to just make a small mark and then edit it with the terrain editor.

James, it didn't work out that way. Setting it the way you described didn't work, and to get a smooth flat terrain was easier using the .png made in Paint. Now it could be that I misunderstood on how to do it, but I did get it to work and this works very well.I also, wanted to add that when you import the .png file as your terrain, you must have one small section either lighter or darker than the rest of the map.
