Torque licensing questions

It says on the main page, 100 american per programmer seat. Does that mean if I have a dev team of 5, it'd cost us 500 american to license the engine?

If all 5 will be programming, then yes you do.

No, you're forgetting the important point. Only programmers who will be developing with the C++ source code need to buy a license. If you're going to be developing with only the scripting language, then you can download the Realm Wars demo and work with this without buying a license.

The best way to think of it is:

If you will be using a C++ compiler to develop your code, then you need to buy a license.

Yes, I will be using the torque source code to create a game (just check my pages). We have 2 programmers, myself and a friend, so that would be 200 american? Or would we actually have to pay for everyone in the dev team?

You only have to have a license for each C++ coder. Scripters, artists, and modelers do not need to purchase a license; only those that will modify/look at the C++ engine code needs to pay the licensing fee.
