Can I find someone to export my assets for me?

by Ritualistic Popcorn · in General Discussion · 05/13/2007 (8:35 pm) · 3 replies

I wasn't sure where I could post such a question.

If I have all the assets st up properly in max,(models, texures, bip files etc) would it be possible for some guru who frequents these forums and reads this post to export my files to the proper torque format for me?
If I sent the files of course.

Anyone who could be available for some quick help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I'd be interested in something like this too. Maybe a central agency for conversion jobs? I want to support Max users but I don't have the license for example.

I agree gg should have a model conversion business. ALot of professionals charge hundreds of dollars for first class work, but some of us just cant get the exporting proper, with the mounts and such. I realize its a huge endeavor, but itmight be good practice for some up and coming modeler to take this by the horns? I know i have several bought models that i cant use becuase i either cant get time to export or i dont know how to correct any errors due to lack of experience. And rather then say well your supposed to learn, not all of us are cut out for modeling. some are better and more effiecent and know the tripfalls of the process. perhaps a small fee, a set of simple instructions with a mount point diagram (under say 3 mount points, more costing more money) and then charge for corrections and such. If its a simple conversion, simple straight fee of say 20 bucks, and then say 50 for a really bad model that needs say a hour of work. and then charge per animantion, you know piece mail work, some of us dont need 50 animations or high end detailing. just a simple functional unique models.

Hi all, you can hit me up by email on such conversion jobs. I use Max and have done dozens of exports for various guys around this place for TGE.
However exporting takes time and effort (and is pretty dull), which means I charge 25$ hourly rates, with discounts for larger jobs. Those numbers you ventured there Ed are pretty accurate, it really depends how the source model is setup and how clean it is etc. The better it is, the faster I am, the cheaper it gets, kind of thing. ;)
