Normal flipping issues?

Hi,
Im a student at Brown College and were learning Torque 3d right now to make our own 3d games. I modeled, textured and rigged up my main character now. I made abasic idle animation and it works ingame fine. But for some reason the normals are flipped or acting strange allowing me to see through the model in spots. Does anyone know what causes this or how to fix it? Ive tried normalizing the normals and flipping them in 3ds max.
