Oblivion-like lighting? (Torches)

by Kaya Dogan · in · 05/07/2007 (3:44 am) · 6 replies

I've been playing around with the Lighting Pack (TGEA). What I need is a torch-like lighting effect - medieval rooms usually don't have any electrical light ;) But for some reason I cannot get that effect even after playing around for 4 days now. Can anyone assist me with that? Thanks in advance.

Got any reference pictures or small videos to serve as an example?

Here is a screenshot of an Oblivion interior. What it cannot show is that the light is flickering (not too much, but it is) - which would be the case if its source was a torch or open fire in general.

In the TLK demo didnt they have a flickering fire that cast dynamic lighting/shadows?

Open up the lighting editor and use the animation tab to create a flickering effect.

Thanks - works now. The lighting/color looks a bit pale, but I think all I need is to tweak it a bit more. Again - thanks for helping me :)

I think a better option would be this:

Make a unique name for your particle emitter in the editor. Next, select your light and there'll be a "particle emitter" field. Insert the particle emitter name, and hit enter. Your light should change color and animate based on your particle emitter.
