Hi:
I just tried the starter.FPS sample Stronghold. Whenever I tried to point my crosshair towards the direction of the lake and places there are lots of objects, it slows down quite a lot!!! I tried another sample FPS made by torque and the problem gets worse, I almost can't play. :(
Other demos are fine though because there are only few ojects in the game.
I use 800, 600 windowed mode and I can't believe this is slow! Anyone knows how I can fix this? I wonder if this is a shortage of TGE

I also tried maximum resolution 1024x768 but it works exactly the same as 800,600 windowed mode. So I think resolution and weather windowed or not have no difference on my PC.
In stronghold, it doesn't lag at all if I look at, for example, somewhere there is no towers, water, etc. Lag only happens at specific places :(
I use default settings like these:
OpenGl, (D3D doesn't make any difference)
800 600 (other resolution doesn't make any difference)
Default Bit Depth (16 bit depth doesn't make any difference)
PNG (JPEG - no difference)

I think my PC is good. I still play games like half life 2 without any problem.I also tried maximum resolution 1024x768 but it works exactly the same as 800,600 windowed mode. So I think resolution and weather windowed or not have no difference on my PC.

Do you have updated drivers for you video card?
Torque Owner Barry Gallagher
Maybe a conflict with your setup?
Got any more info that might help... your graphics card model is usually a good place to start.
