Blender Tracing Help

Ok, I finally figured out how to import a background image. So now, how do I trace it and then extrude it?

A great place to start for Blender reference image techniques is the 'A Better Face Tutorial' http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?t=20448 from the blenderartists forum. The basic approach is to use 'CRTL+LMB' in edit mode in order to create vertices on a plane. Complete the shape with the 'F' shortcut, delete vertices from the original plane that are not needed (i.e. part of your final shape), etc. Once you have the shape you want, you can extrude it, etc.

There are many examples and helpful tips at the blenderartists forum. Its a great place to start for modeling questions, etc. related to Blender.
