Bad penny...

Did some searching on this, but didn't find it. Sure it must be answered somewhere.
Finally got off my butt tonight and decided to dig into TGB. Downloaded 1.5 Beta to take a peek. Very nice stuff, but after I played with the Asteroids demo a little and mangled it I decided to re-load it. When I did, it was the mess I had been playing with (no, I hadn't saved anything). After some playing around I completely uninstalled it and removed the whole GarageGames folder, then reinstalled, then made a backup of the BehaviorPlayground folder so that wouldn't happen again. Loaded up Asteroids and there is was - the same mess. Figured I missed something, uninstalled again and removed the GarageGames folder, then triple checked everything. Then reinstalled. Loaded up Asteroids and - well, you know. Double checked where it's loading from, and it's in the GarageGames folder that wasn't there before the reinstall. Checked the last modified date on the asteroids.t2d file that I'm loading and it's 03/30/07, a month ago. Yet, when I load it, there's the mess I made earlier today. Where is this being saved and why does it keep coming back?
As I said, I searched but couldn't find this anywhere. Looked outside and Rod Serling isn't on my porch. Haven't been drinking. Feeling like a real neophyte. Thanks for any help...

If it was any other program install I'd say it was storing something in the registry and look for it there, but I don't think that's the case here. I'm uninstalling and completely removing the GarageGames folder, then reinstalling, but when I load the Asteroids sample it's the original one I played with (mangled) on first install. Maybe it is hard to explain this after all. Basically, I can't get back to a clean, fresh TGB install for some reason. Maybe I just have to move to computer #2... :)

Thanks James. When I create a new project it goes there by default, but this is one of the sample projects that come with TGB. They're under the BehaviorPlayground folder. If it was any other program install I'd say it was storing something in the registry and look for it there, but I don't think that's the case here. Once I found this I realized it should have been readily apparent, it's SOP for most apps, but it was the end of April, the moon was not in the seventh house, and Jupiter was not aligned with Mars. At least that's what I'm blaming my lack of logic on...

Okay, I'd guess either no one knows or no one is talking, but here's the answer. Your current TGB session information is stored in the GarageGames folder under the Application Data folder in your profile folder. If you do an uninstall of TGB in order to do a clean reinstall, you have to remove that folder. This is not the MyGames folder created under your My Documents which contains your created games, and you don't have to remove that folder for a clean reinstall.Once I found this I realized it should have been readily apparent, it's SOP for most apps, but it was the end of April, the moon was not in the seventh house, and Jupiter was not aligned with Mars. I can't -believe- I remembered that--much less admitted it!
Glad that you got things working!

Nice to see someone catch it. Usually, I make obscure references to oldies lines and everyone just thinks "what a crazy old coot" and moves on, and I get to enjoy the dry humor all by myself. All by myself. Don't want to be, all by myself, anymore...
Sorry, just can't stop. :) Anyway, problems like the one above are usually something simple and you just can't see what's in front of you. Things are always easier the next morning in the light of day.

I have had that "all by myself" song stuck in my head all week, and I don't even know the rest of the words!

---------------------------
When I was young
I never needed anyone
And makin' love was just for fun
Those days are gone
Livin' alone
I think of all the friends I've known
But when I dial the telephone
Nobody's home
All by myself
Don't wanna be
All by myself anymore
All by myself
Don't wanna live
All by myself anymore
Hard to be sure
Some times I feel so insecure
And love so distant and obscure
Remains the cure
All by myself
Don't wanna be
All by myself anymore
All by myself
Don't wanna live
All by myself anymore

@Andrew: Happens to me all the time, except it's usually a different song every day and my problem is with the artist...---------------------------
