Lighting of static meshes in TGE 1.5.1?

Hi,
I see in the bug list that static mesh lighting is a known issue in 1.5.1. I just want to check that what I'm seeing is what you are talking about.
Basically, I'm seeing that static meshes are only recieving ambient lighting, not directional. Its the same in both my game and a clean 1.5.1 build. If this isn't a known issue, what am I doing wrong? I don't remember having to do anything special to get static meshes lit correctly before, I just plonk them down from the editor creator tree?
Thanks for your help.

Dynamic lighting isn't supported though.
