Music format in TGB?

by Anthony Fazio · in Torque Game Builder · 04/23/2007 (4:25 pm) · 7 replies

I looked around and couldn't find any information about this so I figured I'd ask here. Does the Torque Game Builder also support the .ogg format for music? In some of the tutorials and searching garage games I only saw that you could use .wav files. Thanks for whoever's help I appreciate it.

Anthony, actually -- I believe the preferred format is OGG ... but to answer your question simply, "yes -- tgb supports OGG, but not MP3"

Awesome thanks for your help, would you load them exactly like you do with the .wav files?

Hmmm... Adobe Audition doesn't export .ogg files... is there someway to convert a large MP3 or WAV musical track to this format?

Audition 2.0 supports OGG. You can also use Audacity or other open source tool to do the conversion.

Oggenc is a command-line tool ... if you have a bunch of MP3's and you want to batch process them, I usually find CLI tools to be the best route ... but then again, I'm a shell person ;)
