Question on second book coming soon

I was wondering if the second book was going to cover what I would term the middle ground as far as toque is concerned, for example, there is info on modeling, creating animations, texturing, ect in Kens books, a little on exporting, which in most cases is extremely outdated on TDN, but finding info on actually writing scripts to get these to work, I can not seem to find any comprehensive information. I check TDN and its blank for maya entirely other than an old doc written a year ago, and does not cover the scripting part. I am looking for example, an explanation of scripting a character's sword swing animation on a certain event as well as custom weapon animations like an ambient animation ect. Most things in the books, just use basic animations that are stock in Torque and do not explain getting past that point.
If anyone has any suggestions lemme know, I heard that the second edition of Ken's book its better than the first, but my local bookstore does not have it, and I don't feel like buying it if it is going to be as bug ridden as the first.

I hear what you are asking, but no, I don't talk about 3D modelling or skinning in this book. Not being a 3D modeller, I don't feel qualified to talk about those specific topics.
I'm an on the cheap guy and don't have Max or Maya, nor do I have Photoshop.
I'm a Milkshape + Ultimate Unwrap 3D + PaintShopPro kinda guy.
So, although I would like to be able to help you with these topics, I must admit that I don't have plans to cover that material now.
Now, regarding sword animations, you should consider the "Server Side Melee System" resource. It seems to be very active and probably has a good-sized user base. (At least I frequently receive e-mails notifying me of new posts to the resource. :) )
Meanwhile, best of luck on your art pursuits. If you have any more questions, please feel free to post them.

I have purchased the old dream games mmo kit for melee and stuff, but it is not finished yet and their documentation is way behind.

I was more interested in the code side once you have your art resources. Like figuring out how to call your custom animations and make sure they are networked ect. Seems like alot of people have issues with this, anything not based directly off of the stock torque character is problematic. It would also seem that this information would be essential for creating any mod of the TGE that was not a mere copy paste scenario.I have purchased the old dream games mmo kit for melee and stuff, but it is not finished yet and their documentation is way behind.
