Fish behavior tutorial - jerky movements

Hi.

Everything moves around smoothly for me until I put the rocksnearImage onto the scene, at which point
the player fish, the mine object and the bubble object (I actually used two other fish to replace those)
move in jerks. I've just tried substituting another fish for rocksnearImage and got similar results. Has this
been observed before? Is my machine becoming obsolete?

I observed this in beta 2 and saw it in beta 3. I am running a 1.8 GHz PowerPC G5 with 1.5 GB DDR SDRAM
and Mac OS 10.4.9. I have an ATI Radeon 9600 Pro.

Edit: This also happened with the fish game tutorial of moving a single fish around an otherwise unpopulated screen.

I wondered if maybe the FPS were dropping and that was causing the jerky motion, so I tried using the debugger, but I didn't find that to be the case in ActualFPS. Can someone clue me in as to whether this is a known issue with the beta?
