Tgea Terrain

So i downloaded the 1.01 version yeasterday and started to look at it.

2 questions and a word popped up. Wysiwyg and ......

1)Since there seem to be no work done on Terrain tools in Atlas, is it possible to export terrain from GeoTerrain and use as chunks in Atlas ?

2)I have seen questions about the Atlas tools before and the arguments from a GG employe was that Atlas terrains was to big to start to work in details on anyway, so it was propably not going to be fixed. Is this an official statement ?

Working with big terrains and games also mean you have to put in some area content. I rather put in extra months of work to detail my maps than throw someting into the game on random.

Randomly generated terrains works great on "unplanned content" games like a shooter game. It does not however work great on games where you plan areas and specific things to happen.

Please dont answer with "use this third party tool" since that doesnt really answer the questions.

You can use the WYSIWYG tools to make a terrain in GeoTerrain, then export it as a heightmap and into Atlas. Your textures will obviously be lost, though.

Thanks for answering Stefan.

Any way at all to export the texture ? , games without texture are kinda crappy :-)
