What I ask myself is if TXP has been released as well as it was mentioned that license to TX and TGB will grant access to the other side respective license as well.

The whole world is not getting the toolset, what you get as TGB user is the toolset which is needed to create stuff far easier :-)What I ask myself is if TXP has been released as well as it was mentioned that license to TX and TGB will grant access to the other side respective license as well.

The Torque X binary is free to anyone for use, but this does not include any of the tools as Marc describes above. Yes, if someone wants to build a game using Torque X completely from GSE, with no use of the builder environment, they can--and the binary in both cases is exactly the same.
What you purchase at the Indie level is the Level Builder toolset.
What you purchase at the Pro level is the source code to the binary.

what i understand is:
When you get the free version of TX, you get the binaries of the engine, and a trial version of TXB (so i guess the key provided in the free download section will expire after 30 days, right?... but, what if ppl uses the same key again?).
now, us, TGB users, get the same thing that others get when they download the free version of TX, BUT, instead of a 30 days trial of TXB, we get it for free (unlimited use... with personalized key)... my question in this lil spot is: if we (TGB Pro users) got an unlimited (keyless) version b4, why givin us an ignition key now? why not keepin the system the way it was b4? (TGB with key, and TGB Pro keyless)???
and... what about my last question? (will we have some sort of discount offer if we try to buy TX Pro? or do we happen to get access to it right away with the purchase of TGB Pro?)

Ok, i've read a lot about that last night, and i think i got it already... what i understand is:

Kudos to the garage by the way, I've only spent 30 dollars on the platformer so far, and I already have free TorqueX binary, and a shipment of TXB on the way thanks to my subscription to the creators club. This rocks..

My guess is the pro-sources to the engines is going to be seperate. Think about it, they are two totally different source codes. They arn't even written in the same language. Most people I think are going to choose one or the other already, when they have gotten to the pro level. So why would they give them both to you if you only need one? It makes more sense that they have low prices and are giving away product at the low level, since thats where people are entering and just figuring out what engine they want to use and how much they want to spend. Because there is no TXB Pro. Both the TGB and TGB pro licenses grant the same TXB license.

There is a TX Pro, so a short answer on
would be nice ... :-)
Asked that one in february already but it wasn't possible to answer it back then, think it should be possible by now ...
*and the unsimilarities seem to lessen as stuff added to one side is ported to the other side as it seems ... editors TGB -> TXB, components and restructured t2d objects TXB -> TGB*

I've read on Creators.XNA.Com that our Creator's TXB license is valid while we have Creator's Subscriptions. Are you telling me that TXB will time out in 30 days?
Where is that indicated or stated?

Welcome to the Torque X Builder. Torque X Builder is an editor built on the foundation of Torque Game Builder designed specifically to work with Torque X. With TXB, you can create and edit scenes for your Torque X games using a simple drag and drop visual interface. The Torque X installer installs the trial version of TXB. If you are a member of Microsoft's Creator's Club, you can get a free license to TXB. If you aren't a Creator's Club member, you can purchase a TXB license from the GarageGames website and use the provided key to unlock TXB.
Frankly, I'd like to know before I dedicate more time to this engine...
Does TXB, after licensed with the Microsoft's Creator's Club TXB key, time out after 30 days?

Does TXB, after licensed with the Microsoft's Creator's Club TXB key, time out after 30 days?

No.
If you cancel your Creators Club subscription or let it lapse, the download link on your My Account page (which points to the Creators Club website) will no longer work (because the CC site validates your CC account before letting you download).
The copy you already downloaded, installed, and unlocked with your reg key will still work, but you will no longer have access to future updates.

An active Creator's Club Membership grants you a free license to Torque X and Torque X Builder. If your membership lapses, Torque X and Torque X Builder will continue to work, but you will not be able to apply any future updates. To do so, you would either need resubscripte to Creator's Club, or purchase a license to both products.

So, why don't we clearly state:An active Creator's Club Membership grants you a free license to Torque X and Torque X Builder. If your membership lapses, Torque X and Torque X Builder will continue to work, but you will not be able to apply any future updates. The TorqueX license is free, even for updates. Its the TXB toolset which requires the license.

Torque X (TX) is an extesion to Microsoft's XNA Express and is free to download and use from Garage Games. Products developed under the library must comply with Garage Games' Licensing, but for all practical purposes, you are free to develop and use the libarary for both PC & Xbox 360 games. TX currently support only a 2d model, but work on the 3d model is in process.
An active Creator's Club Membership grants you a free license to Torque X Builder (TXB). TXB is a graphic tool which extends Torque X by providing an easy to use object & property management system. If your membership lapses, TXB will continue to work, but you will not be able to apply any future updates. To do so, you would either need resubscripte to Creator's Club, or purchase a license to TXB.

What is TGEA and Torque 360?
From hompage (http://garagegames.com/) center bottom on 5/19/07:
Toque 360
Use our powerful TGEA engine and a special XBox 360 development license to create stunning 3D games for for the xbox.
Ok, is that TX plus TXB?

In order to get Torque 360, you must own a Xbox 360 Dev Kit from Microsoft. Its the TGEA engine.

What script is used in TGBX (or TXB). Is it torque script like in TGB? If no, then how hard is the scripting language in TXB?

Torque X does not have any scripting language. All game code exists in the C# programming language and is accessed from the Game Studio Express application. TXB is only used to create level files by placing scene objects. C# is a relatively easy programming language to learn. Anyone that has learned TorqueScript should be able to easily learn C#.John K.

why is there a free version of TXB?...
i really thought you were being good guys by givin us (TGB users) TXB for free... but, why givin it out for free to the whole world too? (i have an idea, but i'd like to hear it from you guys).
i bet theres no real difference between the 2 versions, right?.
one more question:
will there be some sort of offer for us (TGB Pro users), for us to get TorqueX Pro?
