Vista OS fix for TGE 1.4, 1.4.2 and 1.5

by Volund · in Torque Game Engine · 03/27/2007 (9:18 am) · 5 replies

I did a search and couldn't find that anyone has fixed this, I could be wrong.
If no one has posted a resource to fix the issue (TGE 1.4, 1.4.2 and 1.5 not launching in Vista) then I would be more than happy to post the fix. It requires an engine rebuild and I have tested it on each version.
I have also tested this fix on all versions of the MMOKIT with success.

:)

Thx,
Volund
edit: Basically I am asking if I should post this resource/fix or if it has been done already.

I havent had any problems running any of those versions in Vista including TGEA. The only problem that I have with TGEA in Vista is that it thinks my video drivers are outdated. Which for now I simply muted the problem by lowering the version number that it thinks I should have.

Just out of curiosity I would love to see the problems and the fixes that you have.

I apologise for this late reply. I isolated the problem to be directly effecting *only* the Dell Latitude D800. it is odd, I know, and if you have a Dell Latitude D800 running Vista I do not recommend running vista, even with 2g of ram. If you choose to anyway pls email me and I will send you the lines changes to make in the engine to run on your machine.
