Particle effect corruption

I take it this has been reported before but I can't find the post. I'm having serious corruption problems with particle effects. They seem to hold for a while then suddenly they disappear. The image is no longer selected when I look at the particle effect itself but when I reselect the image the effect is all screwed up and it looks like it went back to some kind of default settings. I can reload the effect from a back up but they are corrupting so fast now I'm having trouble tweaking them and saving them before they corrupt. I heard there might be a bug fix but I can't find a place for bug fixes.

Definately appreciate the help I lost most of tonight's work to that bug.

Thanks. I kind of double posted because I realized I should have mentioned it under bugs to make sure it was getting addressed. If you're running the latest version and it's still happening apparently the bug hasn't been patched yet. Hope they sort this out because I can see it being a real headache when you slip up and build a particle effect without running play first.Definately appreciate the help I lost most of tonight's work to that bug.

When your editing particles, manually save your .eff in another folder before every modification and runtest. That's the only way for now.

Everyone has been a huge help with this one. Seems like this issue should be an easy bug to fix so hopefully they'll have it squashed on the next release. Just glad there's a workaround. I try to keep conservative with particle effects but there are several on every level and twice that on some so it adds up to a lot of particle effects over the coarse of an entire game.

Thanks. Yeah I started getting paranoid about backing up particle effects. I guess I didn't run into it before because generally I was working and testing a level for hours before I built a particle effect. What bit me was I'm finishing up on the levels so I was going through and systematically adding particle effects and tweaking them so I wasn't testing the level first. That was the first time I saw the problem.Everyone has been a huge help with this one. Seems like this issue should be an easy bug to fix so hopefully they'll have it squashed on the next release. I get this when I run the game first, then go back to edit the particle effects, and try to save them. If I don't run the game from TGB (so by pressing the "play" button) this never happens to me.
