The Escapist - Casual gaming issue - may be of interest...

I haven't read it yet, but as I often see many questions about casual gaming and the business of it, I thought this might be useful or of interest to some people, forgive me in advance if this link has been already shared somewhere else!:D

Oh, feel free to share if you find it useful (or not!) :P

EDIT: Just noticed as I was reading, a certain company/game name you might recognise. Anyone heard of Enchanted Gardens (in the GG Store here www.garagegames.com/products/125/) by Yatec, well there' an interview from them in the same issue here (congrats Yatec) www.escapistmagazine.com/issue/89/16

The Escapist is pretty hit and miss for me. I've seen some really great articles (check out Greg Costikyan's on boardgaming, or the one on the Garriots), and a whole lot of ones that tell me stuff I already know. I like what they are trying to do though and I think they are generally elevating game journalism, so I hope they keep it up.

Yeah, I think I would agree with that general assessment, they do handle the material in a manner that says games are played by adults too as opposed to some other publications and many failed video game shows that seem to assume only kids play games and don't really explore the culture side of things.

Thanks Leroy! It was cool to have them write an article on us. I just wish it hadn't been a phone interview, as the interview ends up reading like a really casual conversation. Which isn't a bad thing, I guess.

I've always enjoyed reading the Escapist, and it's nice to see an article on our company alongside other articles on PopCap, Warren Spector, Second Life etc. :D

Quote:really casual conversation
Don't worry, it's an issue on 'casual' gaming, so 'casual' conversations are very fitting on this occasion! Nonetheless, like you said, it's pretty cool to be featured in the Escapist! I hope it brings additional sales too! :0)
