Question

Hi everyone,

I'm currently a year 10 student, and my 'dream' job is to be a games designer(of course you just don't get hired as one). I actually do not want to go through Year 11 and 12. The reason for this is because, basicly I'm not an academic person and I'd learn a whole lot more if I just worked on making games, programming and working at my current job(website firm).

Do they look for year 12 certificates? Do I need to go to college to get into the game industry?

Also, I'm in Australia - If that really makes any difference what so ever.

Thanks!

Ultimately, talent and passion are more important than education, but in the long run you makes things a lot harder on yourself if you don't finish school. I reccommend you stick it out.

Here's a good article on the topic.
