I was wondering if the Constructor tool was showed at GDC last week.
Thanks.

Yeah, is there any news on Garagegames showings at GDC? New tech? Cool new updates for TGB? Anything?

Nothing was mentioned to me when I stopped by the GG GDC booth about Constructor unfortunately, so if there was an updated preview it was either not on display when I was there or the GG staff that were manning the booth were oblivious about it.

And the comment from Brian pretty much backs it up :p

I have seen Weston work his mojo on a dance floor. If that is any indication of how things work for him in general, it is my guess that he simply stood around, sipping a Gin & Tonic, and every vendor on the show floor migrated to him to him and offered to show off all of their "behind closed doors" stuff.

We did have the latest beta build of Constructor there to show anyone who asked about it, which is exactly what Weston did.

We did not showcase Constructor at GDC 07. We felt it would be tacky to show off the same product two years in a row with the "coming soon" moniker attached, even if it is true this time around. Besides that, we had a whole lot of cool new tech to show off, the details of which are coming soon to a blog post near you. We did have the latest beta build of Constructor there to show anyone who asked about it, which is exactly what Weston did.

@Pat, you never dance with me anymore...and I'm sad.

I did get a constructor demo...from the lovely Matt Langley, but only because I asked real nice. It's looking good, lots of potential. Favorite features so far are definitely the static mesh importing and in-tool lighting. When it's done it should be pretty sweet---->assuming of course that it has flaggable smoothing group support and a power of 2 grid option....oh yeah, and a real-time material editor:)@Pat, you never dance with me anymore...and I'm sad.

Haha, agreed. Especially the grid and the smoothing groups :)

It said coming soon in 2006 on the GDC forum. Which means any day now Constructor COMING SOON.
