Hey there
I'm new to the community so I decided to jump right on the band wagan and get to work here. I have sketched this up litarelly 30 minutes ago (hence no colour. I have never drawn fantasy before so your crit on actual concept would be better than the drawings themselves. As I understand it this game has races? so they would have ranks ? thats what I went for here anyway. Keep in mind these are roughs once I get some crit I will work in them indavidualy to get a more polished result.
Demon Elves

These demon elves have a distorted perseption of strength. At the age of 12 you are enrolled to fight for the race as cannon fodder(guy number 1) at the same time you are ritualisticly subjected to pain, this ritual pain causes you to "evolve" to a higher ranking demon elf (guy 2) you then collect the spoils of the creatures you defeat. These trophies are used as armour and in some cases your limbs are removed and replaced with more impressive ones (his spikey arm). This proccess continues as you move up the ranks gaining more and more armour while your demonic image consumes your elvin one.
Tell me what you think of the history if even you want it at all

if you notice the younger guy is more elf like and innocent. the further the progress the more they take on they're demonic nature. I thought creating a history would help when designing buildings and so on

Maybe dark elves of a sort, but I see elves as being too "high" to submit to things like skulls. Even dark elves.
So maybe alter the race to something else?
i like the idea that they look young too. If you maybe made them a bit more squat, with more muscle they could make good dwarves.
The skulls are too flambouyant for theif classes too, definitely suggesting warrior types. Human/Dwarf would be my recommendations.

The idea behind the whole demon elf thing was that they were kind of hybrids, trying to shed they're elfin side to be what is more pure to them, demonic. Maybe I'll change it to human/demon hybrids or something
I have also removed the ponytails after reading the snapshot section I found that they were a no-no. Keep your eyes peeled.

thanks I'm re-working as we speak. Wonder what class they'd be. I guess they are kinda human more than elf. Is there a really dark human class in trad fantasy?

Damn i wish i could get these pics to load in the browser so i could give a more informed opinion.
ah copy paste from the propertys works,, definitly Baresarks, some scarring in the face textures, when you work on the models, (make em meaner and madder) give them axes or flails for weapons, usualy, double bladed axes, maces work well too.
I got so carried away with these line drawings, forgot to compliment the artist, so Great Concept art and if and when you get to trying out some models for this for submission to RW project i would like to help with either textures or models or both.

Although for some reason i cant get angelfire, to display the pictures :(, in answer to your question Phil, i would say that the traditional fantasy/humans (badguys) would be "BareSarks" or Berserkers, these humans were supposed to go into a beserk killing rage during battle, that made them almost invincible, during their "Rage Period", for more info on this you would have to read the legends of Druss (forget the author).Damn i wish i could get these pics to load in the browser so i could give a more informed opinion.

thanx for the good crit'. I'll get to work straight away adjusting their look. An answer to the Devilman/DBZ thing, Well yes their would be similarities in each of those cartoons, this is due to the eastern influence that is reflected in my artwork. As you may or may not know DBZ is japanese and a popular style of drawing there is called anime. It is this style that has influenced me in many ways as has the western art.

I like te least one, if you would allow me,iwould like to work on it into a demon class. I have a large knowledge of demons, both the christian,satanic,folkloric and a few other views on them. I would base it around the satanic/modern demon look. Ill post the results here,that is,if you dont mind.Ratt

sure go ahead. I would assume the forum is about community contrabution so why shouldnt u ? I personally am a christian so I tend to focus on that but I do know this is different so I have tried a different aproach. We'll see what we all come up with =) have funIan
