Take a look at Smultron. It works a bit better than text edit for torque script.

Holy Cow! Thanks for the advice! Smultron rocks compared to TextEdit!! Great looking GUI, pretty printing, auto code line numbering and more makes this one sweet (Free!) program. Thanks a bunch Greg! Still gonna buy the Torsion version for Mac however!- Kirk

Yeah, I am hoping owning the windows version I am no longer using gets me access to the Mac version. Torsion has some nice features I am missing.

I'm running on one of the newer iMacs though, so I'm not sure how beefy your system needs to be to do this. I've also got the same method working on my MacBook Pro, although I don't have my Windows virtual machine installed as a Boot Camp partition on there (which I'm sure is slower, but I haven't noticed any slowdown yet).
Still, I'd love to not have to open up VMware to use Torsion. But for now, it's working pretty well.

I've actually been having some pretty good success using VMware Fusion to run Torsion on the Mac. I've got a Windows Boot Camp partition set up, which I can open as a virtual machine in VMware and open Torsion (I can even run it in Unity mode, which hides the Windows interface). I can even launch the Windows version of the game and debug it in Torsion. It actually doesn't run that bad (at least, in my project at the moment). I actually have the game folder shared with the virtual machine, so I don't have to have two copies of the game on my system. This also lets me just use the Mac version of the editor, which allows me to run the game at full speed from there.I'm running on one of the newer iMacs though, so I'm not sure how beefy your system needs to be to do this. When we do release the Mac version... and we will release it... it will be free for existing users. I just hope that if your running it both on PC and Mac *at the same time* your honest about it and buy a second copy.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get the Mac version done. Cutesy interface be damned. I just want to step thru buggy code.

WHEN the Mac version finally does come out I will ONLY run on the Mac where all my graphics/animation/video/music, etc. ,etc, etc. now run. As my game gets more robust the switching back and forth is no longer fun.PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get the Mac version done. Cutesy interface be damned. I just want to step thru buggy code.

Plus, you know, I'd really appreciate the effort in porting it to the Mac.
It'll be tough to give up TextMate on the Mac, though...I've really come to like that editor.

I currently use Torsion for my PC build, but that's really secondary to my Mac build. If Torsion comes out for the Mac, I'll gladly pay for a second copy -- it would be nice to be able to use the same program in both OSes.Plus, you know, I'd really appreciate the effort in porting it to the Mac.

I debated VMWare, but went with Parallels instead. TGB is pretty buggy in Para/Windows, most likely due to my graphics card.

That sounds great Tom. I would probably have purchased it again, but it would have been a while. Rubes, I was really tempted to buy TextMate, just couldn't justify the cost at that point. I have seen it used and it looks great.I debated VMWare, but went with Parallels instead. TGB is pretty buggy in Para/Windows, most likely due to my graphics card.

I have no problems at all paying for the MAC version, any estimates on when it will be released?

Heres my support for a mac version, be it free to existing Torsion owners or cost me another 40.00, I would easily pay that for this kick ass script debugger on another platform.Jason

Hi there, I may be late to the party but I'm one more who would love to see the mac version shipped. I used to work on a crappy old windows box and just got my new imac setup (it's curtains for the old comp)! I actually already bought the windows version of Torsion, and loved it, so I am glad to hear my license will transfer... keep workin, and keep us posted if at all possible... thanks!

Another future buyer here. I hope to afford me a Macbook Pro soon, and Torsion on the go would be great. Can't run Windows in Boot Camp on that; I need the space for gigs of coding music!

I think we'll see a Mac version of Torsion about the same time we see $3 a gallon gas

Yeah, and as I mentioned take a look at how far back the posts go and the amount of responses we've gotten. Don't get me wrong, Torsion is a FANTASTIC tool and a great help to development but I just don't see a Mac version ever happening. Sad, but true.

So, where is it, anyway? I thought it could be out around the same time as the TGEA 1.8 beta for MacOS X... no news about this?
