TorqueX and Editor info

by Jake Lancing · in Torque X 2D · 03/03/2007 (9:18 am) · 3 replies

Hi,

Our team is currently evaluating TorqueX and its editor for a commercial game that we would like to develop for Windows and 360. Currently our game requires 3D models, but is restricted to a top-down view (2D playing field). I realize that this question has been asked many times as I have scoured the forum, but it will help us a lot to know when is the estimated date (or even a timeframe) that TorqueX 1.0 will be released as well as when 3D support will be in.

We are happy with what TorqueX seems capable of, but we can't really make any decisions until we have an estimated timeframe for the above features.

I too would like an update on an ETA for 1.0.

Thanks!

@Jake - TorqueX is completely usable for a commercial game as it currently stands. I'm releasing two games over the next 30 days built with it. 3D is fully supported by XNA. There are a few editors for terrain and such if you do a google search for them (outside of the TX world).

As a side note, you can't release a commercial game on Xbox360 using TX because you can't do it with XNA at this point.
