Exporter crashed when exporting characters

Hi,
I am very frurstrated that 3ds max 9 crashes when trying to export a character with the biped skeleton.
At first tought I that my characters weren't correctly set up, but i couldn't even export the standart orc.
Why is this?
i dont have this problem when I export a character with the soldier skeleton(torque skeleton).
But i can export characters with the biped system in 3DS max 7...
But I modeled and skinned my characters in 9 so if I wanted to export them in Max 7 i would have to re-skin them and that would cost me a lot of time.
So can someone help me out?

Before you do anything, check the DUMP file.
and post what it says.
As well with the soldier, he has a proper config file. How is your config setup?
If nothing can be found in these two places!
Then.........
1) Prove that Soldier pack will export through 7 and 9
2) Prove that your character will export from 7 and 9
Yes that means reskinning your character. I personally have had to do this many times,
and get pretty quick at skinning.
This is the only way to flush out if it is max 7 or 9...right?
Chances are its probably your character, because I havnt heard too much trouble
with other max users, but of course, I could be wrong.
Good Luck.

anyway, i already exported soldier based characters in max9 so that works out fine, but the fact is that I cant even export the standart torque orc while i can export this in max 7
so, i dont understand why it doesnt work...

ect. For re-scale your characters with biped system. In biped system You can't re-scale model right? Advanced parameters function can save .env file format to skin re-use for each character with scaled.
i think 3dmax9 can save .evn file and maybe can use in 3dmax7 too. But am not sure for this. i working on 3dmax8. Maybe this can save your time to working on 3dmax7.
Sorry for English
