We are a low budget company but we finally have our first contest up and going. Don't miss out on your chance to win a brand new PSP. We are still working on our site so please excuse the mess. Check out this great chance to win a new PSP at http://www.3dgamemaster.com. Each contestant will be required to build models in 3ds files.
Good Luck!

I posted questions about using 3DS as a boned format and animations as well as artist IP questions on the blog post.
EDIT:
All turned in files for the competition become property of the owner of 3DGAMEMASTERS.COM
Answered my own question from the blog.

As far as owning the designs we are not a charity. We are awarding our contestance so that they will be a part of our bigger picture. We are looking for some of the best in 3d gaming. Once our site is finished and fully up and running. The winners will be posted in the Masters area for all to see. We will also contact masters based on their talents to help in further projects for an agreeable wage. We are not here to take anyone's credit. Every service a contestant sends that we use will be announced in the credits of the project. I understand to some this may not be for you, but to others we have been well supported by our community.
Thank you all for your comments and I wish you the best.

I think that if only the winner files remain your property it would be more acceptables as he at least get a PSP in return. And you should NOT use any files from non winner. Otherwise it clear that it's just a scam to fish for free models.
I won't be spending days on models just to give them away for nothing in hope to win a contest, and a PSP is not that a good price either considering the time you need to put in doing good models.
Good luck with your game.

Joseph, I think that if you change the "rules" of the contest you may get less flame. I think that if only the winner files remain your property it would be more acceptables as he at least get a PSP in return. And you should NOT use any files from non winner. Otherwise it clear that it's just a scam to fish for free models.

Others may look at it as "well, even if i dont win the PSP, maybe i'l get to show off enough that they may hire or contract me for more work"
